The UBJP, formed in 2014 as the political arm of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), has yet to receive formal accreditation from the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Despite submitting all required documents, including its sworn list of authorized signatories, the party remains excluded from the official roster of groups allowed to field candidates in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) elections.
