The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) said it cannot proceed with substantive discussions with the national government due to the absence of an officially appointed chief negotiator on the government side.

At an event in Davao City, MILF vice chair and chairman of the MILF Peace Implementing Panel, Mohagher Iqbal, emphasized that negotiations require a duly authorized counterpart who can make binding decisions.
