Appao is one of three Bangsamoro designers chosen for the eight-member Philippine delegation. He will be joined by Maverick Francisco Oyao of Basilan and Akmad Kari Jr. of Cotabato City after a nationwide selection process involving hundreds of applicants.

Bangsamoro Fashion Gains National and International Recognition

Appao's international opportunity follows his participation in the 7th Manila International Fashion Week, where Bangsamoro designers showcased traditional textiles under the theme "Modest Fashion: Experience BARMM."

Organized by the BARMM Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism in partnership with the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government, the showcase featured textiles from across the region. These included Inaul from Maguindanao, Langkit from Lanao del Sur, Tennun from Basilan, Pis Syabit from Sulu, and Tepo from Tawi-Tawi.
